Canadian-born actor Angus MacInnes has appeared in an impressive amount of cult sci-fi/fantasy film and TV series.

He started his on-screen acting career with an uncredited scene with star James Caan in the seminal Rollerball (1975) and soon afterwards appeared in Gerry Anderson’s classic Space:1999 (1977) with future Oscar-winner Martin Landau.

In 1980 he had a small role in Superman II and the following year he was seen in Outland starring Sean Connery, a claustrophobic murder mystery in space with hints of High Noon (1952).  He was cast as Judge Silver in Sylvester Stallone’s under-rated Judge Dredd (1995) and as Sgt. Whitman in Guillermo del Toro’s stylish Hellboy (2004).

He is, perhaps, most fondly remembered for his role in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), which he was to later reprise in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016).  As Jon “Dutch” Vander, he was leader of the Gold Squadron, who died heroically in the assault on the Death Star.

ECC are delighted to have Angus as a guest in 2020, where he will surely prove to be a popular and hugely entertaining guest.

Any guest may cancel at any time due to a personal or professional conflict.
